Pellerano & Herrera and The Legal 500 recognize General Counsels of major Dominican companies

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.- The law firm Pellerano & Herrera and the internationally renowned publishing house, The Legal 500, held a cocktail in Santo Domingo on the occasion of the launch of the GC Powerlist Dominican Republic 2022, a list that recognizes leading Dominican general counsels.
The GC Powerlist highlights the role of corporate lawyers for formulating key strategies and developing innovative solutions for complex legal and business matters, as they play an increasingly important role in today’s business environment.
The GC Powerlist is an annual list that recognizes senior General Counsels and legal teams around the world and this time they launched the first list for the Dominican Republic.
More than 80 corporate directors and members of the legal teams of renowned Dominican companies participated in the event, including Banco Popular, AES Dominicana, Banco León, Gerdau-Metaldom, Citibank, Grupo Magna, Grupo Martí, Barceló Hotels, Pueblo Viejo Corporation, Cesar Iglesias, Diesco, Cormidom, EGE Haina, CCN Group, Unilever, Philip Morris International, among others.
The welcoming remarks were given by David Freeman and Fred Mazo, The Legal 500’s representatives, and Ricardo Pellerano, managing partner of Pellerano & Herrera, who stated, “for our firm, being able to host this award is of great significance, as Pellerano & Herrera has always been a promoter of legal career development and has played a transcendental role in the training of legal professionals in our country.”
Pellerano & Herrera was a pioneer in joint launching the first master’s program in Legal Practice alongside a leading university in the country, graduating over 50 professionals in five years and additionally launched the first and only alumni program to date, being the alma mater of over 500 lawyers who have stood out in private practice, in the judicial spectrum and as GCs, many of whom are recognised in this year’s GC Powerlist.
