PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Santo Domingo – Las Américas Metropolitan Train is an innovative project that will connect over 30 sectors along the metropolitan axis of Santo Domingo, directly benefiting more than 300,000 users.
The first phase of the project will extend from the Centro Olímpico to the Las Américas International Airport, integrating with Metro lines 1 and 2. In the Distrito Nacional, there will be four stops from Centro Olímpico to Avenida Juan Pablo Duarte with Calle París, and 20 stations in Santo Domingo Este, from Faro a Colón to the airport terminal.
This project is part of the Trust for the Development of Mass Transit System (FITRAM), an initiative addressing issues of urban mobility saturation and congestion by introducing new modes of transportation. The goal is to integrate over a million users into public transport and reduce privatevehicle traffic on city streets.
The train will have the capacity to transport between 20,000 and 30,000 passengers per hour.
SCOPE
The construction includes the access esplanade, excavation of the mining tunnel, construction of structural works, reinforced counter-slab, complementary civil works, and the installation and laying of rails necessary for the infrastructure.
For Lot 2, it includes the construction of the railway track and level counter-slab, involving excavation, filling, leveling, and stabilization of the railway embankment at the Ecological Avenue level. It also includes the construction of structural works, reinforced counter-slab, safety fence, complementary civil works, and the installation and laying of rails.
