The Constitutional Court Unveils the Book “Constitution and Politics” by Dr. Juan Manuel Pellerano
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As part of the 180th anniversary of the proclamation of the Constitution, the Constitutional Court of the Dominican Republic launched the book Constitution and Politics, authored by Dr. Juan Manuel Pellerano Gómez, founder of the law firm Pellerano & Herrera. The book is included in the Classics of Constitutional Law Collection.
Speaking on behalf of his father, Ricardo Pellerano, Managing Partner of Pellerano & Herrera, shared remarks on the legal and academic legacy of Dr. Pellerano Gómez. “In Constitution and Politics, my father reflected on the historical challenges of harmonizing political power with constitutional principles, emphasizing that respect for the Constitution is essential for the progress and stability of our nation,” Pellerano stated.
He also highlighted his father’s commitment to the fundamental values underpinning Constitutional Law. “Dr. Pellerano Gómez dedicated his life to the study, teaching, and practice of law, with a vision of building a more just and democratic society,” he added.
The event, led by Justice Napoleón R. Estévez Lavandier, President of the Dominican Constitutional Court, underscored the Court’s commitment to promoting national and international legal doctrine. Estévez Lavandier emphasized that the publications in this legal collection are invaluable contributions to the teaching of the Constitution and the promotion of the rule of law.
Ricardo Pellerano expressed gratitude to the Constitutional Court for reprinting his father’s work and including it in this prestigious collection, affirming that it will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations of jurists and citizens dedicated to defending the Constitution.
