Pellerano & Herrera and Fundación Madre y Maestra Promote Academic Excellence in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo, DR. – Ricardo Antonio Pellerano, Managing Partner of the law firm Pellerano & Herrera, and Dr. Mercedes Carmen Capellán, President of Fundación Madre y Maestra, signed an agreement aimed at strengthening higher education in the Dominican Republic. This partnership, within the framework of the philanthropic trust called “Guardians of Academia,” establishes an endowment fund designed to provide scholarships to academically outstanding young individuals to study at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), as well as to foster scientific research and innovation.
As a founding member of “Guardians of Academia,” Mr. Pellerano has contributed both financially and with his expertise to the development of this initiative. During the signing ceremony, the Executive Director of Fundación Madre y Maestra, Prof. Eduardo Reynoso Pérez, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Pellerano for supporting the project, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the higher education of young Dominicans.

A Pioneering Fund for the Future of Education
“Guardians of Academia” is the first endowment fund in the country aimed at seed capital for higher education scholarships, managed under the structure of a Philanthropic Investment Trust. The returns from the raised seed capital will be used to meet the objectives of Fundación Madre y Maestra in the development of academic excellence, research, and academia-business partnerships, led by Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.
