Biography
Lucas Gómez joined the firm in 2019 as an Associate of the firm’s Dispute Resolution department. He has over 10 years in legal practice and concentrates his practice in criminal and civil litigations matters, representing well-known companies of the Tourism, Mining and Real Estate industries. Lucas has extensive experience in real estate litigation and electoral disputes.
Relevant matters:
- Represented important player in the tourism sector in the filing and execution of a registered rights lawsuit in order to restore boundaries and illegal occupation, claiming the protection of property rights of a large portion of land part of a tourism project in development.
- Represented defendant, relevant company in the mining sector, in a dispute over registered rights before local real estate authorities, aimed at recovering land where mining company carried out its operations.
- Represented the technical defense of a real estate project developer in a criminal proceeding in the construction of a high-end housing project of great investment, for alleged violation of Law 675-44 on Urbanization, Public Ornament and Constructions.
Lucas received his Bachelor of Laws from the Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD) in 2010. In 2017, he obtained a Master in Political and Electoral studies with a dual degree from the University of Granada in Spain (UGR), and the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, Santo Domingo (PUCMM). He has participated in different congresses, seminars and special courses on Constitutional Law and Civil Procedural Law.
He is a member of the Dominican Bar Association and is fluent in Spanish and English.
