Pellerano & Herrera Wins Latin Lawyer’s Project Finance Deal of the Year 2010 for its work with the Pueblo Viejo Mine Financing
Published on:The Dominican Republic law firm Pellerano & Herrera has won the award for Deal of the Year 2010 from Latin Lawyer magazine for its representation of Pueblo Viejo Dominicana Corporation in the US$1.035 billion project financing for the development of the Pueblo Viejo Gold Mine and the infrastructure related to the project. The award, in the Project Finance category, comes as a result of Pellerano & Herrera’s counsel to its client, Barrick Gold Corporation, the largest gold producer in the world, in connection with its installation, start up, and operation of the gold mine.
The project, the total value of which exceeded US$3 billion, is the largest foreign investment in the history of the Dominican Republic.
