Yolemny Cruz joined Pellerano & Herrera in 2017 as Senior Associate. She is a litigation lawyer with over 15 years of experience in complex criminal, civil, commercial, labor and administrative matters, which makes her a multidisciplinary lawyer usually involved in handling important matters of high profile clients.

Yolemny also advises clients on migration processes and naturalization, crisis situations and regulatory changes. She has participated as a leading lawyer in numerous disputes involving contractual violations, violations of trademark law, copyright and unfair competition.

Some of her most recent representations include directing the investigation and prosecution of one of the most relevant high-tech crimes in the country. Likewise, she has successfully represented notorious trademark owners who had been violated trademark rights through unauthorized importation, and imports of counterfeit goods into the Dominican Republic.

Yolemny has also represented minority shareholder groups on matters of fraud, breach of trust and alteration of financial statements; she has elaborated the legal strategy for the closure of 190 food franchises nationwide in which she managed mitigation claims risks for early termination of contracts.

She regularly assists companies and shareholders in disputes related to investments, as well as economic, financial and labor matters, and has conducted several internal investigations for clients in matters related to intellectual property theft, breach of confidentiality policies and other matters. She has led discussion forums on regulatory changes in business associations and has provided legal opinions on bills that are currently for approval before the National Congress of the Dominican Republic.

Her career was evaluated and recognized by Benchmark Litigation as a Future Litigation Star in 2019 and 2020.

Yolemny received her Bachelor of Laws, magna cum laude, from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and in 2013 she completed her Masters in Civil Procedures from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). She has participated in various courses on topics related to legal strategies, civil and commercial law, family law, immigration law, labor law and social security, among others.

She is fluent in English and Spanish.
